We were dispatched out for a rescue on the Kolob Terrace Road. With the amount of snow that we got in the mountains this last winter, there was still a bunch left up there to get stuck in. The truck and the camper trailer were separated so we had to separate recoveries to do.
Too Low For Rescue?
Here’s a few recovery videos that weren’t good enough for our regular scheduled programming, but were too good to throw away. Come along with us as we get skunked on one job, and test out some new equipment on another.
Hung up below the diversion dam
We were called out to assist a stranded motorist down below the diversion dam, on the Virgin River. His Toyota truck was high centered and hung up pretty good on a fallen log. It took a couple of pulls, rock stacking, and some hillbilly math to get the truck free.
STUCK TRUCK
We were called out for a truck that was stuck in the sand on the Babylon Mill Road near Leeds Utah. The sand was very soft and we couldn’t get the traction and we needed to pull it out forward. We were able to get it rotated a little bit and then pull it out backwards.
BURIED in the SAND
We got a call for a truck that was stuck on the East side of Sand Hollow Reservoir. It ended up being a 2 wheel drive truck and was a fairly easy job. On the way out, we came across a Dodge diesel truck pulling a boat trailer that was buried to the axles in sand. The little jeep was able to pull him out and get him on his way without too much trouble.
